Ministry of Information will focus on institutional modernisation, modern administration, and strengthening of quality of the country’s media through training and reinforcement of professional ethics in journalism.

The move was made by H.E. Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information, while receiving Mr. Sardar Umar Alam, UNESCO Representative in Cambodia, here at the ministry office yesterday afternoon.

H.E. Minister laid stress on the importance of human resource training in the field of media, adding that the ministry is planning to organise training courses on professional media in the future.

H.E. Neth Pheaktra also informed his guest of another priority of the ministry, i.e. to continue combatting fake news.

For his part, Mr. Sardar Umar Alam pledged to cooperate with the Ministry of Information in building human resources and strengthening the respect and implementation of the professional ethics in journalism.
