Kep Province Hosts Food Fair and Traditional Games to Celebrate Khmer New Year

Phnom penh: The Kep provincial administration organized a food fair and traditional games event on April 13 in front of the "I Love Kep" garden. This event was part of an effort to celebrate the Khmer traditional New Year and to promote national culture, customs, and identity.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the opening ceremony was presided over by Kep Governor H.E. Dr. Som Piseth. In his address, Governor Som Piseth emphasized that traditional games are a valuable cultural heritage passed down from ancestors. He highlighted that organizing such activities during the New Year festival not only brings joy and entertainment but also plays a vital role in preserving and promoting national identity for future generations.

Following the ceremony, Governor Som Piseth took a tour of the food fair, which featured a wide variety of Khmer-style cuisine. He advised all vendors to maintain fair pricing and avoid overcharging customers during the New Year celebration.
