Siem Reap Prepares to Welcome Tourists During Pchum Ben Festival

Siem Reap:The province is set to welcome both domestic and international tourists during the Pchum Ben festival, with comprehensive preparations in place to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, Pchum Ben is a significant festival for Cambodian Buddhists that sees families reunite to honor their ancestors at pagodas. This period is pivotal for preserving Cambodia's cultural and religious traditions.

Siem Reap, renowned for its temples and heritage sites, is ready to host tourists with a variety of attractions including cultural, natural, and community-based destinations. Mr. Thim Sereyvuth, Director of the Siem Reap Provincial Department of Tourism, stated that tourism service providers are well-prepared for the influx of visitors.

Accommodations are available at reasonable prices, and the Ministry of Tourism has directed service providers to maintain high standards and appropriate pricing for their offerings. The promotion of green-season tourism is expected to draw more visitors to the region.

Maj. Gen. Huot Sothy, Siem Reap Provincial Police Commissioner, assured that police forces are on standby to maintain security and order throughout the festival. Security measures have been reinforced at key locations to ensure a safe celebration.

With its extensive resources and enhanced security, Siem Reap is poised to offer tourists a memorable experience during the Pchum Ben holiday from October 10-12.
