Battambang:Emergency relief packages have been distributed to over 500 households in Battambang city, Cambodia, which were severely affected by recent flash floods.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the Governor of Battambang province, H.E. Sok Lou, oversaw the distribution of essential supplies to families in two Sangkats‚¬€Sangkat Ochar and Sangkat Omal. A total of 270 families in Sangkat Ochar and 259 families in Sangkat Omal received aid. The relief efforts were supported by donations from Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and Cambodian Red Cross President Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, with additional backing from Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony. The logistics for this operation were facilitated through the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port.
Governor Sok Lou expressed his sympathy towards the affected residents and emphasized the Royal Government's commitment to assisting communities impacted by the seasonal floods.
In a related effort, 500 cartons of instant noodles were donated by Pruonh Ritha, Director of the Battambang Provincial Department of Public Works and Transport, along with his spouse and departmental staff, to further support the province's flood response operations.
