Phnom Penh:Cambodia has exported 15 million tonnes of agricultural products to international markets during the first ten months of 2026. This achievement reflects an improvement in both the volume and quality of the exports, as stated by a senior official at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Ker Monthivuth, Director of the Department of Plant Protection, Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) under the General Directorate of Agriculture, highlighted these developments on October 23 at the Cambodia Agriculture Forum and Exhibition 2026 (CAFE26). The event took place at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh.
The forum and exhibition gathered agricultural experts, development partners, and representatives from the private sector to exchange experiences, knowledge, and new technologies aimed at promoting the sector's growth. Monthivuth emphasized the Ministry's focus on enhancing scientific data and establishing robust pest-risk management systems for key crops, including mangoes, bananas, durians, and cashews.
The Royal Government of Cambodia has prioritized the agricultural sector to support sustainable agricultural development, protect consumer health and the environment, ensure food security, and enhance the competitiveness of Cambodia's agricultural trade both domestically and internationally. Monthivuth also urged farmers, traders, and private-sector businesses to collaborate in strengthening production and management capacities to meet the standards necessary for international market exports.
