MONASRI to Change Its Name to Ministry of Inspection

The Ministry of National Assembly-Senate Relations and Inspection (MONASRI) will change its name to the Ministry of Inspection.

The 10-article draft law on the change was approved in the first session of the Council of Ministers of the 7th Legislature of the National Assembly, held here at the Peace Palace this morning under the chairmanship of H.E. Kitti Tesaphibal Pundit Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

MONASRI was established in 1999 with an aim to promote and strengthen governance to ensure the efficiency, integrity, professional morality, work discipline, and cleanliness of public administration, as well as to contribute to preventing, combating, reducing and then eliminating corruption.

At the same time, the cabinet meeting also approved the draft law on the establishment of the State Secretariat for Border Affairs of eight articles.

Besides, the meeting confirmed that the Royal Government of the 7th Legislature of the National Assembly will continue the Supreme Consultation and Recommendation Council (SCRC), a consultation mechanism between the Royal Government and political parties for the nation’s benefits.
