Phnom penh: His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, has extended his deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the Government and people of Venezuela following the devastating earthquakes that struck the country.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, in a message dated June 26 and addressed to H.E. Delcy Rodrguez, Acting President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, His Majesty expressed his deep sadness over the catastrophic twin earthquakes, measuring magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5. The earthquakes resulted in significant loss of life and widespread destruction.
The King noted that the disaster claimed the lives of hundreds of people, injured thousands more, displaced countless families, and severely damaged homes, public infrastructure, and communities in the affected regions.
'At this time of profound grief, I wish to convey to Your Excellency and, through Your Excellency, to the Government and the people of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy,' His Majesty wrote. He emphasized that his thoughts were with the bereaved families, the injured, and all those whose lives had been profoundly affected by this tragic disaster.
His Majesty also expressed confidence that, under the leadership of Acting President Delcy Rodrguez, the strength, resilience, and solidarity of the Venezuelan people will enable them to overcome this difficult ordeal and advance steadily toward recovery and reconstruction.
