Cambodian Prime Minister Embarks on Russia Visit for ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit

Phnom penh: A high-level Cambodian delegation led by Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet departed this morning for the Russian Federation to attend the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit, marking the 35th Anniversary of ASEAN-Russia Dialogue Relations. The visit is taking place at the invitation of H.E. Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the ASEAN-Russia Commemorative Summit is scheduled to be held from June 17 to 18, 2026, in Kazan. The Summit celebrates the 35th Anniversary of ASEAN-Russia Dialogue Relations and offers a platform to advance the ASEAN-Russia Strategic Partnership. During the event, leaders will discuss regional and international issues of mutual interest, aiming to foster peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and beyond. The Cambodian delegation was seen off at Techo International Airport by deputy prime ministers, senior ministers, and numerous high-ranking officials, alongside Russian Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Ambassador Anatoly Borovik. In addition to attending the Summit, Samdech Thipadei Prime Minister will participate in side events and conduct several bilateral meetings to enhance bilateral and multilateral relations and promote cooperation in areas of shared interest. Accompanying the Prime Minister are H.E. Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, along with ministers, senior government officials, and Cambodian business representatives.
