Cambodia has earned a gold medal for soft tennis at the Nonghyup Bank Incheon Korea Cup International Soft Tennis Tournament 2023 in Incheon, the Republic of Korea from June 14 to 21.

According to the Cambodia Soft Tennis Federation, Mr. John Mada won the gold medal in Men-Women Mixed Play in the Consolation Match.

Mr. John Mada teamed up with a Filipino athlete to beat Thailand and Poland in the first round before continuing to defeat the Philippines and Poland in the second round, and Mongolia and Thailand in the final.

Earlier, John Mada and his team member, Mr. Say Sochetra also obtained a bronze medal in Doubles event on June 19.

Mr. John Mada won two medals – a gold and a bronze – from the 32nd SEA Games hosted by Cambodia in May.

The Korean Cup 2023 is attracting the participation of athletes from Cambodia, Japan, Taiwan, China, Poland, Czech Republic, Mongolia, Pakistan, India, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Timor-Leste, and South Korea.

The Cambodia Soft Tennis Federation has sent eight athletes to join the tournament. As of this afternoon, Cambodia bagged a total of four medals: a gold and three bronze.
