The Cambodian U19 women's national team scored their first three points in Group A of the AFF U19 Women's Championship 2023 after beating Laos 2-1 in a match held at the Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium in Palembang, Indonesia on July 5 evening.
The Lao team took the lead with the first goal at the 3rd minute, but the Cambodian team earned back two goals by Chhit Saphoeun in the 21st and 62nd minutes.
Cambodia will have two more matches against Timor-Leste on July 7, and the host country, Indonesia on July 9.
The AFF U19 Women's Championship 2023 in Indonesia is taking place from July 5 to 15, 2023 with the participation of 10 teams dividing into three groups. Group A includes Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, and Timor-Leste, while Group B consists of Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore, and Group C Thailand, Myanmar and the Philippines.
The finals are scheduled for July 15 at the Gelora Sriwijaya Stadium.
