Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology Engages with Singaporean Ambassador

Phnom penh: H.E. Thor Chetha, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology, welcomed H.E. Steven Pang Chee Wee, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Singapore to Cambodia, for a courtesy call and working discussion on June 11.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting highlighted the deep-rooted relations between Cambodia and Singapore, with Minister Thor Chetha extending his congratulations to Ambassador Pang on his appointment. The dialogue underscored the effective cooperation and robust partnership that have developed between the two countries over the years across multiple sectors.

Minister Thor Chetha provided an overview of the Ministry's primary responsibilities, emphasizing its role in managing water resources and delivering meteorological services. He detailed the Ministry's commitment to ensuring water security, enhancing climate change resilience, fostering economic growth, and reducing poverty. These objectives align with the Royal Government of Cambodia's Pentagonal Strategy - Phase 1 under the National Assembly of the seventh legislature.

Both sides expressed their dedication to further strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in water resources and meteorology. Initiatives such as technical capacity-building and leadership development were discussed as means to benefit the two nations and their citizens.
