Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for New Agriculture Academy and Biochemistry Lab in Takhmao

Takhmao:The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has initiated the construction of the Cambodia Agricultural Science Academy (CASA) secretariat and a new biochemistry building for the National Agricultural Laboratory (NAL) with a groundbreaking ceremony held on Monday.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the event took place in Prek Pring village, Setbo commune, Takhmao town, and was presided over by H.E. Dith Tina, the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. The establishment of CASA is a result of a government sub-decree issued in March, which aims to integrate various research institutes specializing in agriculture, forestry, livestock, and fisheries.

The newly established academy, located near Techo International Airport, will incorporate the Fisheries-Aquaculture Research and Development Institute (FARDI). CASA will also encompass the existing Cambodian Agronomy Research and Development Institute (CARDI) and the Cambodian Rubber Research Institute (CRRI).
