Kratie Authorities Resolve Over 100 Public Forum Complaints in Third Quarter 2026

Kratie:Local authorities in Kratie province successfully addressed 113 out of 168 complaints and requests raised by residents during public forums in the third quarter of 2026, with 33 additional cases currently being processed.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Neth Pheaktra, Minister of Information and Head of the Royal Government Working Group for Kratie Province, praised subnational officials for their grassroots efforts in addressing community concerns at a quarterly review meeting on October 30. He called on authorities at all administrative levels to continue providing effective, timely, and non-discriminatory public services, while also intensifying efforts to combat drug-related offenses, gang activities, and online scams to ensure public safety and security.

Provincial Governor H.E. Var Thorn reported that over the three-month period, working groups convened 20 public forums across cities, districts, communes, and Sangkats, attracting 4,227 participants, including 1,645 women. Of the 168 proposals received, 65 cases (39 percent) were resolved immediately at the forums, 48 cases (29 percent) were addressed after subnational review, 33 cases (20 percent) remain under active consideration, 21 cases are pending, and 1 case has been submitted to the national level.

Governor Var Thorn highlighted the importance of grassroots engagement as a critical link between the Royal Government and citizens, facilitating the clarification of government policies, development plans, and sectoral reforms while directly gathering public feedback. He noted that most unresolved issues involve large-scale requests that require resources beyond the immediate capacity of the working groups and subnational administrations. Authorities plan to continue utilizing provincial, district, and commune funds, as well as departmental budgets, to implement phased solutions based on necessity and available resources.

The meeting concluded with a commitment to align local service delivery and governance with the Royal Government's political programme and Pentagonal Strategy - Phase 1 under the seventh-mandate administration.
