Korean Association: Cambodia, a Safe Destination for Both Domestic and International Visitors.


Phnom penh: The Cambodian Ministry of Tourism convened a meeting on October 30 with representatives from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Cambodian-Korean private sector. The meeting aimed to address concerns and requests following a recent Korean TV report alleging illegal detention and coercion of Korean citizens in Cambodia.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting, chaired by H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, included high-ranking ministry officials, representatives from the Korean Embassy, members of the Korean Association, the Cambodian Tourism Association, tour operators, tourism companies, Korean investors, and Korean nationals residing and conducting business in Cambodia. During the meeting, H.E. Minister presented Cambodia’s current situation, highlighting the country’s peace, security, and favorable environment for foreign investment and international tourists, particularly from South Korea.

a’s strong commitment to implementing strict measures against all forms of crime, including traditional and online offences. The discussion emphasized the safety and harmony experienced by Korean residents and businesses in Cambodia. The Korean Association and all relevant parties conveyed a message to the Korean community and Korean nationals, encouraging them to visit Cambodia with peace of mind. The meeting underscored that Cambodia remains a safe destination for both domestic and international visitors.
