New York:Cambodia has reaffirmed its longstanding partnership with the United Nations (UN) and its commitment to peace and sustainable development.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the reaffirmation was made by H.E. Keo Chhea, Permanent Representative of Cambodia to the United Nations, during the Asia and Pacific session of the Annual Resident Coordinator Global Meeting in New York on November 5.
In his remarks, Ambassador Keo emphasized the critical role of the UN Country Team, led by the UN Resident Coordinator in Cambodia, in supporting the country's national development priorities. These priorities include achieving graduation from the status of a least developed country (LDC), addressing climate action, and implementing projects aimed at promoting sustainable development.
Ambassador Keo also urged for continued investment in the UN Resident Coordinator system to ensure a more coherent, responsive, and effective UN development system.
