Phnom penh: H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received a farewell call from H.E. Stefan Messerer, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Cambodia, marking the completion of his diplomatic mission in the Kingdom.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Prak Sokhonn praised Ambassador Messerer for his efforts in enhancing the friendship and cooperation between Cambodia and Germany. He highlighted the mutual benefits and prosperity that have resulted from the strengthened ties. The Deputy Prime Minister also expressed his commitment to supporting the incoming ambassador in order to continue advancing the bilateral relationship.
During their meeting, H.E. Prak Sokhonn and Ambassador Messerer explored ways to enhance cooperation in key areas such as trade, investment, education, agriculture, agro-industry, energy, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges. They noted the achievements in high-level exchanges during Messerer's tenure and discussed international and regional issues of shared interest, emphasizing the significance of international law and diplomatic solutions for peaceful conflict resolution.
Additionally, H.E. Prak Sokhonn provided an update on the Cambodia-Thailand border issue, ensuring transparency in regional developments. The farewell meeting concluded with a luncheon hosted by H.E. Prak Sokhonn in honor of Ambassador Messerer, celebrating the amicable relations between the two countries.
