Tokyo: The Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Japan is set to host the 10th Cambodia Festival at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo on May 3-4.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, a preparatory meeting was held on April 18 at the embassy, chaired by H.E. CHUM Sounry, Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Japan and Chairman of the Cambodia Festival Committee. The meeting was conducted in a hybrid format, with both in-person and online participation from vice-chairpersons and committee members, the Honorary Consul of Cambodia in Sendai, heads and members of various working groups, Cambodian and Japanese supporters of Cambodian culture, as well as the embassy's officials and staff.

During the meeting, participants reviewed the progress made by each working group in implementing their respective plans and finalized preparations for the festival. H.E. the Ambassador expressed gratitude for the efforts and cooperation shown by all committee members and working groups. He urged the Embassy's working group and all stakeholders to maintain close coordination in addressing remaining tasks to ensure the smooth and successful organization of the event.

The Cambodia Festival, held annually since 2015, seeks to promote Khmer arts and culture and encourage trade, investment, and tourism among Japanese and foreign guests. It features traditional performances, classical music, displays of Khmer costumes, promotional booths, and exhibitions of Cambodian products and cuisine. Last year's event attracted more than 100,000 visitors.
