Phnom penh: Cambodia has secured tariff exemptions for 154 customs tariff lines of its exports to the U.S. market following the United States' revision of its new tariff rates, a senior Ministry of Commerce official said.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, at a press conference on the 'New Tariff Rate on Imports from Cambodia into the United States Following the Section 301 Trade Compliance Investigation under U.S. Trade Law,' held at the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) on July 27, H.E. Sim Sokheng, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce, announced that Cambodian products under 154 tariff lines would be subject to zero import duties in the U.S. market.

H.E. Sim Sokheng explained that the tariff-exempt products include, in addition to textiles, various handicrafts such as Krama (Cambodian scarf) and hats, products made from wood waste, as well as certain plants and animals. He emphasized the significance of these exemptions in enhancing Cambodia's export potential to the U.S.

He further added that the Ministry's working teams would continue exploring the potential of other Cambodian products to secure duty-free, or zero-tariff, access to the U.S. market, aiming to expand the range of products benefitting from the favorable trade terms.

In the first six months of 2026, Cambodia exported approximately US$7.17 billion worth of goods to the U.S., representing a 29.8 percent increase compared with the same period last year. This growth underscores the strategic importance of the U.S. market for Cambodia and the potential impact of the new tariff exemptions on the country's export economy.
