Phnom penh: The Ministry of Tourism has appointed Mr. Tiv Dararith, a Cambodian world cyclist, as a Tourism Goodwill Ambassador to help promote Cambodia's tourism potential and enhance the Kingdom's positive image internationally. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, received Mr. Tiv Dararith and his colleagues for a courtesy call and working discussion on July 25 at the Ministry. During the meeting, Mr. Tiv shared his experiences from an extraordinary cycling expedition across Asia and Europe before concluding his journey in Southern Africa. This impressive expedition covered approximately 58,000 kilometers across 40 countries over two years, or 730 days. H.E. Huot Hak expressed appreciation for Mr. Tiv Dararith's talent, determination, and patriotism. The Minister commended his efforts to promote Cambodia's positive image globally through his cycling mission, while also contributing to humanitarian and social activities. On the occasion, the Minister reaffirmed the Min istry of Tourism's support for initiatives that contribute to promoting Cambodia's tourism potential, particularly those that bring the 'Wonder of Cambodia' to the global stage. H.E. Huot Hak also recalled expressing support on July 9, 2026, for a motorcycle expedition from Cambodia to the Esposizione Internazionale delle Due Ruote (EICMA), the world's leading international motorcycle exhibition, scheduled to take place from Nov. 5 to 8, 2026, in Milan, Italy. The mission is organized through cooperation between Calypso Motors and Chip Mong Group. The Ministry stated that such initiatives contribute to promoting Cambodia's reputation internationally, strengthening the tourism sector, and encouraging greater investment in the Kingdom. The Ministry of Tourism reaffirmed its commitment to encouraging and supporting initiatives that promote the 'Wonder of Cambodia' to the world while bringing the world to Cambodia.
