Budget 2025: MOE Hopes For Priority In Strengthening Education Ecosystem

KEPALA BATAS, Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek has expressed hope that Budget 2025, which will be tabled in Parliament next week, will prioritise strengthening the entire education ecosystem to ensure that no one in the country is left behind.

She said that the Ministry of Education (MOE) has submitted proposals for consideration by the Ministry of Finance to be included in the budget.

‘The MOE’s focus for this budget is to ensure that all students, including children with special needs, are not marginalised from receiving a proper education.

‘We view this budget as crucial, especially for addressing essential needs in education, and we are confident that the government will once again prioritise education,’ she told reporters after officiating the closing of the National Education Management Conference here today.

The four-day conference, themed ‘Pendidikan Manusiawi Memacu Pendidikan Negara MADANI’, which began on Oct 7, saw the participation of 674 principals from across the country.

ated that among the proposals submitted by the MOE for consideration in Budget 2025 were measures to address teacher shortages, tackle the issue of dilapidated schools, and repair school toilets.

She said that the MOE has also requested the government to introduce more initiatives aimed at strengthening the country’s education system.

Budget 2025, themed ‘Ekonomi MADANI, Negara Makmur, Rakyat Sejahtera,’ will be tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the Dewan Rakyat on Oct 18.
