South Korea will provide US$500,000 worth of humanitarian assistance to Papua New Guinea to help deal with the aftermath of a massive landslide that may have killed thousands, the foreign ministry said Thursday. A massive landslide struck its northern region of Enga province on Friday, with more than 2,000 people estimated to have died and tens of thousands feared to have suffered damage.
