KUALA LUMPUR, A total of RM155,000 in educational assistance has been allocated by the Bank Rakyat Foundation (YBR) to help 16 schools and 500 students in the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency.
Deputy Minister of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said that five secondary schools (SMK) in the Sungai Buloh area received RM50,000 for the Tuisyen Rakyat programme, while 11 primary schools (SK) received RM55,000 in aid, and 500 schoolchildren received school supplies worth RM50,000.
‘The first phase of the aid is being distributed in the Kota Damansara area, while the second phase will cover the Paya Jaras area next week.
‘I would like to thank the Bank Rakyat Foundation for successfully realising this programme in collaboration with the Sungai Buloh MP People’s Service Centre,’ the Sungai Buloh MP said in a Facebook post today.
The aid distribution was officiated by Ramanan and Bentong MP Young Syefura Othman, who is also YBR trustee board member, at the Multi-Purpose Hall
in Section 7, Kota Damansara, yesterday.
Ramanan said that the assistance aims to support schools in further enhancing students’ achievement through educational programmes and cash aid for students from the asnaf and B40 families, thereby improving academic performance for the 2024 school year.
In line with the slogan ‘Ending Poverty Through Education,’ inspired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, he said the government remains concerned and committed to empowering education to produce a highly educated Malaysian generation and eradicate poverty in the country.
‘Education is a crucial element for the nation’s future. In the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency, my mission and primary focus are to assist and elevate education.
‘I would like to thank YBR general manager Syaiful Rizal Abdul Ghani, and his team for their continued support of various programmes in the Sungai Buloh parliamentary constituency,’ he said.
