Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, has praised the significant contribution of the Bank of China Group (BOCG) in strengthening the financial system in Cambodia after more than 10 years of operations in Cambodia.
The Cambodian Premier made the appreciation while receiving Mr. Ge Haijiao, Chairman of the BOCG, in Beijing, China this evening, on the sidelines of the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.
Samdech Thipadei also highly valued the BOCG’s participation in promoting Cambodia-China trade, as reflected in a significant increase in bilateral trade volume between the two countries.
Besides, he expressed his satisfaction with both countries’ cooperation in financial systems, which facilitate cross-border payments between the Riel and the Yuan, contributing to boosting the use of local currency, tourism and cross-border trade, etc.
For his part, Mr. Ge Haijiao spoke highly of the development and progress in all areas of Cambodia, especially in the financial sector, and was convinced that under the leadership of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, the Cambodian financial sector will see more development, especially in this era of digital economy.
The BOCG chairman informed Samdech Thipadei of his plan to visit Cambodia next month in order to promote and expand the financial cooperation between the two countries through new financial products and rich experience of the BOCG.
