“Nodojiman/ Japanese Song Contest in 2023 Held with Joys

The “Nodojiman” Japanese Song Contest in 2023 was concluded in a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere with an audience of over 400 cheering the contestants, affirmed the Embassy of Japan in Phnom Penh in a press release AKP received this evening.

Organised by the embassy, in collaboration with the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Centre (CJCC) and the Japan Foundation, Phnom Penh Liaison Office, on June 25 at the CJCC's Angkor-Kizuna Hall during Tanabata Festival 2023., the annual contest received 50 applications from the public and through preliminary session, 17 representative individuals / groups were chosen among them to compete for the final contest.

According to the press release, the contestants who won the 1st, 2nd, 3rd Prize, Best Japanese Pronunciation Award and Best Performance Award this year are as follows:

1- Mr. Heam Senghong , 1st Prize Winner

2- Ms. Un Sophearak, 2nd Prize Winner

3- Mr. Yang Ty, 3rd Prize Winner

4- Mr. Math Sopheak, Best Japanese Pronunciation Award

5- Ms. Sem Sokunthea, Best Performance Award

The first prize winner of the contest was awarded a trophy, a certificate and a laptop; the second prize winner received a certificate, a tablet and the Embassy goods; the third prize winner received a certificate, a tablet and the JFPP goods ; the best Japanese pronunciation award winner received a certificate and a DHC Coupon (US$200); and the best performance pronunciation award winner received a certificate and a Lepoint Coupon (US$40).

Nodojiman Japanese song contest has

been organised as an annual event for

encouraging Japanese language learners to enjoy practicing the language through singing Japanese songs.

"We hope that, through this event, the

understanding of Japanese culture and

language among Cambodian students is further promoted," stressed the embassy.
