MR. DIY BRINGS JOY TO PPR FAMILY WITH KITCHEN UPGRADE

A family of six residing at Hicom public housing project (PPR) in Shah Alam were the lucky beneficiaries of the MR D.I.Y. Group [M] Berhad’s recent social outreach initiative to help underprivileged Malaysians and those going through challenging times.

MR D.I.Y. Group Berhad in a statement today said that under the initiative, volunteers from MR D.I.Y. Cares and its social outreach team conducted a makeover of the family’s kitchen.

“They cleaned, refurbished, repainted, and reorganised the family's kitchen, using a range of home improvement tools and equipment available in Mr. D.I.Y. stores, including paint rollers, brushes, and paint trays.

“They also gave the kitchen a fresh coat of paint, added new kitchen appliances, organised and added storage racks, baskets, cutlery holders, movable three-tier storage racks, floor mats, container jars, garbage bins, as well as spin mop and broom sets,” the statement read.

It said the family had been going through some hard times of late, as the father was suffering from a slipped disc, limiting his ability to work and leaving the family’s income in the hands of his wife, Siti Fatihah Zaini.

Meanwhile, Siti Fatihah said the transformation means a lot to her family because it will certainly make cooking and cleaning up much easier.

In a parallel programme, MR D.I.Y. Cares volunteers recently also extended a helping hand to the community at Bukit Jalil PPR here by delivering rice in 10kg bags to 25 deserving families.

Commenting on both initiatives, a spokesperson for Mr. DIY said the company owes its success to the loyalty and commitment of Malaysians across the country, and therefore it is right for them to extend a helping hand to those in need.

“We regularly help PPR communities around the country by supporting their needs in different ways, whether it is upgrading their homes or supplying them with everyday essentials.

“We look forward to doing more and encourage other corporates to do the same; let’s do it together for a better Malaysia,” the spokesperson said.
