Phnom penh: The Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MOWRAM) and the Cambodia Development Resource Institute (CDRI) have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening and expanding cooperation on research and development in the water resources sector.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by H.E. Serei Bandit, Undersecretary of State at MOWRAM, and H.E. Dr. Eng Netra, Executive Director of CDRI. The signing ceremony took place under the presidency of H.E. Dr. An Pich Hatda, MOWRAM's Secretary of State.

The Secretary of State emphasized that this agreement establishes a long-term cooperation framework aimed at bridging scientific research with public policy formulation and implementation in the water resources sector. The goal is to achieve greater efficiency in the management and utilization of water resources.

This partnership will concentrate on five key areas: joint research, policy dialogue forums, information and knowledge exchange, capacity building, and knowledge development. These efforts are intended to support water resources management, river basin management, climate resilience enhancement, and flood and drought risk management.
