Minister Speaks Highly of KOICA’s Cooperation on Labour and Vocational Training

The Minister of Labour and Vocational Training speaks highly of the good cooperation between Cambodia and the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) on labour and vocational training.

The minister, H.E. Ith Samheng expressed his appreciation during a meeting on July 19 with Mr. Rho Hyun Jun, Country Director of KOICA Cambodia Office here in Phnom Penh.

H.E. Ith Samheng underlined KOICA’s technical contribution to Cambodia's labour and vocational training development, especially its support for the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

The minister was hopeful that the Republic of Korea, through KOICA, will further expand its cooperation on Cambodian TVET to help develop human resources to better meet the needs of the labour market.

Mr. Rho Hyun Jun appreciated the fruitful cooperation with the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training and looked forward to bringing it to a new level.

On the occasion, both sides signed a Record of Discussions (R/D) for the Project “Building Capacity and Establishing Enabling Environment in ICT Majors of TVET in Cambodia”.

The five-year (2023-2027) project is aimed to contribute to enhancing TVET education quality through the improvement of the ICT curriculum and training environment, and capacity building for trainers in the ICT sector.
