Phnom penh: H.E. Thor Chetha, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology of Cambodia, recently met with H.E. Mrs. ‚¬¦€š¬…€œlk Kocaefe, the Ambassador of Trkiye to the Kingdom of Cambodia. During the meeting, the Minister expressed his appreciation for the enduring friendship and excellent cooperation between Cambodia and Trkiye, noting its significant contribution to Cambodia's socio-economic development.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, H.E. Thor Chetha briefed the Ambassador on the Ministry's mission and priority policies, which focus on sustainable water resource management and the rehabilitation of modern irrigation systems. These efforts aim to ensure water security for daily use, agriculture, and industry. The Minister also emphasized the importance of improving meteorological forecasting accuracy to mitigate risks from natural disasters and climate change.

Additionally, H.E. Thor Chetha requested that the Turkish side deepen cooperation in the water development sector. He suggested that this could be achieved through the exchange of advanced technical expertise in transboundary water management and the application of digital technology in irrigation systems.
