MAXIS CONTRIBUTES HARI RAYA FOOD BOXES FOR B40 FAMILIES

KUALA LUMPUR, The country's leading integrated telco company, Maxis, distributed Hari Raya Aidilfitri food boxes for 200 B40 families in Lembah Pantai, here and Tanjong Tokong, Penang in the spirit of giving during the month of Ramadan. Maxis Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Mariam Bevi Batcha said the contributions were part of the telco's annual festive charity outreach and corporate social responsibility activities. The supplies provide essential nutrition for those in need and underprivileged households during the festive season. 'At Maxis, we are committed to making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve. As we prepare to celebrate Hari Raya, we are thankful to be able to extend a helping hand to families that require support. 'Maxis wishes all Malaysians Selamat Hari Raya dan Maaf Zahir Batin,' she said in a statement, today. Earlier, Mariam Bevi presented the food boxes to the Lembah Pantai households in the presence of Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil, who is also the Lembah Pant ai Member of Parliament. As for the community in Tanjong Tokong, Maxis Head of Region (Northern) Leonard Chin Ying Choi handed over the food boxes in the presence of State Exco for Infrastructure and Transport Zairil Khir Johari during the recently held Iftar Jamae Masjid Tuan Guru programme. Meanwhile, in a show of appreciation for armed forces personnel, who will be on duty during Hari Raya Aidilfiri which is expected to be celebrated on Wednesday, Maxis contributed 1,000 kuih raya packs as a token of gratitude for their service.
