KG Mobility’s Jan. sales down 16.4 pct on sluggish demand

KG Mobility, formerly known as SsangYong Motor Co., said Thursday its January sales fell 16.4 percent from a year earlier due to weakened demand. KG Mobility sold 9,172 vehicles last month, compared with 10,973 units sold a year earlier, the company said in a statement. Domestic sales fell 47.2 percent on-year to 3762 units, but exports jumped 39.7 percent to 5,410 units. KG Mobility said it saw strong demand for its Torres EVX and Rexton Sports models, especially from Turkey, Belgium, New Zealand and Hong Kong. The company said it expects global sales of the Torres EVX and other key models to expand thanks to the company's various global sales expansion initiatives. Source: Yonhap News Agency
