Seoul: KCC Corp. on Monday reported its third-quarter net loss of 42.3 billion won (US$30.9 million), turning from a profit of 11.2 billion won a year earlier. Operating profit for the July-September period was 125.3 billion won, up 41.7 percent from a year ago, the company said in a regulatory filing. Sales rose 5.2 percent to 1.63 trillion won. According to Yonhap News Agency, the substantial net loss marks a significant financial setback for KCC Corp., contrasting with the profit reported in the same quarter of the previous year. Despite the downturn in net profit, the company experienced growth in its operating profit and sales, indicating resilient operational performance amidst financial challenges. The increase in operating profit reflects a positive shift in the company's core business activities, while the rise in sales demonstrates continued market demand for KCC's products. The company's financial results highlight the complex dynamics of its current fiscal environment.
