Foreign Embassies Express Condolences over Tragic Explosion in Kampong Speu Province

Foreign ambassadors accredited to Cambodia have expressed their sincere condolences over the loss of lives in a recent ammunition explosion in Kampong Speu province. 'I am saddened by the news of the tragic explosion occurred in the military facility in Kampong Speu province on April 27 that resulted in loss of many soldiers as well as injuries,' Ambassador of Japan H.E. UENO Atsushi wrote in his condolence message released on Sunday. 'I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the family of the victim by loss of their beloved one and pray that the soul of the deceased rest in peace and all those affected by the tragedy recover at an early date,' H.E. Ambassador added. The Australian Embassy shared the same feeling, adding, 'we extend heartfelt condolences to the families and friends of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.' 'Our heartfelt condolences to the people of Cambodia on the tragic incident of the ammunition depot explosion, which claimed the lives of at least 20 people, including br ave soldiers. Tea Seiha, High Representative of Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, paid his last respects to the 20 fallen soldiers and attended their cremation ceremony.
