FM Cho to visit naval unit in Pyeongtaek next week

Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul plans to visit a battle unit of the South Korean Navy early next week, his office said Thursday. Cho will pay a visit to the Second Maritime Battle Group of the Navy's Second Fleet, located in the Pyeongtaek base, 65 kilometers south of Seoul, on Monday and meet with sailors to encourage them, the foreign ministry said. The Second Maritime Battle Group is a unit in charge of carrying out maritime operations to protect the Northern Limit Line (NLL) in the Yellow Sea, the de facto western sea border with North Korea. "Minister Cho plans to express his gratitude to our soldiers for their hard work dedicated to national security," ministry spokesperson Lim Soo-suk said in a briefing. Source: Yonhap News Agency
