Ex-President Moon’s Daughter Booked Over Suspected Illegal House Sharing.

Seoul: Police said Monday they have formally booked former President Moon Jae-in’s daughter on suspicions of illegally operating a house sharing business. Moon Da-hye is suspected of running an Airbnb business at a studio apartment in Seoul’s Yeongdeungpo district without official declaration in violation of the Public Health Control Act.

According to Yonhap News Agency, police have secured testimony from a guest who stayed at the apartment and are verifying the facts, Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency Commissioner Kim Bong-sik said during a regular meeting with reporters. If necessary, police plan to request Airbnb’s cooperation with the investigation. Moon Da-hye is also suspected of running an Airbnb business at a house on the southern Jeju Island.

Separately, she is under investigation for alleged drunk driving after her car collided with a taxi while changing lanes in Seoul’s Itaewon district in early October. Kim said the investigation is ongoing, with police looking into the possibility of charging Mo
on with causing injury. Police officers raided an oriental medicine clinic last month in an attempt to secure records of treatment received by the taxi driver involved in the collision but discovered that no such documents had been issued. Moon’s blood alcohol concentration was measured at 0.14 percent on the night of the accident, exceeding the 0.08 percent threshold for driver’s license revocation.
