Phnom penh: A Cambodian rider has officially kicked off an epic overland expedition, travelling more than 30,000 kilometres from Phnom Penh to Milan, Italy, astride a homegrown, locally produced motorcycle.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the official launch ceremony for this monumental journey was held on July 9 under the presence of H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, at the Chip Mong Mega Mall 271, Phnom Penh. The expedition is specifically timed to culminate at the Esposizione Internazionale delle Due Ruote (EICMA), the world's premier international motorcycle exhibition, set to take place from Nov. 5-8, 2026, in Milan.

The Minister emphasized that participation in EICMA 2026 is not only about introducing motorcycles assembled and manufactured in Cambodia to the global market, but also about showcasing Cambodia's abundant tourism assets, investment potential, and the capability of its people to the world.
