Cambodian Prime Minister, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet this afternoon started his economic and investment engagement with different Chinese investors and businessmen, upon his arrival in Beijing for the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation from Oct. 17-18, 2023.

After landing safety at Beijing Capital International Airport and being warmly welcomed by H.E. Tang Renjian, Chinese Minister of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet had separate meetings with the management of Genertec International Holding Co., Ltd. and China Datang Co., Ltd.

In the meeting with Mr. Kang Hubiao, Chairman of the Genertec International Holding Co., Ltd., the parent company of China National Energy Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. (CNEE), Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed his support for the joint venture between Cambodia’s Royal Group and CNEE in hydropower project in Cambodia, and hoped that CNEE will expand its investment to other areas in the Kingdom.

For the meeting with Mr. Zuo Lei, Chairman of China Datang Co., Ltd., the Cambodian Premier encouraged the company to invest more in Cambodia’s energy sector and to focus its investment on new technologies that can further enhance efficiency and price competitiveness.

For his part, Mr. Zuo Lei expressed his company’s commitment to increasing its investment capital to US$600 million in solar and wind energy projects to contribute to the implementation of the Royal Government of Cambodia's Pentagon Strategy.
