Cambodian King to Join Opening of 19th Asian Games in China

The presence of His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, at the official opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games will reaffirm the solid diplomatic tie between Cambodia and China.

The special opening of the games will take place on Sept. 23 in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, the People's Republic of China.

The news was shared by H.E. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports and Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC).

The highest presence of the Cambodian monarch will not only be a national honour but also an encouragement to Cambodian sports delegates and athletes, he added.

Cambodian athletes are also ready to compete at the games.

The 19th Asian Games will be hosted by China from Sep. 28 to Oct. 8, 2023, with the participation of athletes from 45 countries.
