Cambodia and Uruguay have discussed cooperation in the agriculture sector, especially in research and development, between the two countries. The discussion took place between H.E. Dith Tina, Cambodian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, and H.E. Ms. Valeria Csukasi Cabrera, Ambassador of the Republic of Uruguay to Cambodia, at the ministry's office in Phnom Penh on Aug. 21. H.E. Dith Tina briefed his guest on Cambodia's policy related to agriculture, and reaffirmed that the Kingdom is open to all investors to boost Cambodian agricultural exports to international markets. H.E. Minister encouraged a focus on agribusiness, mentioning many Cambodian potential products such as fruit and fishery products that are of good quality and profitable. H.E. Dith Tina also laid stress on the importance of research and development work, in which the two countries can cooperate in terms of experience and techniques sharing to develop agriculture, increase profitability and economic efficiency.
