Cambodian and Singaporean leaders have discussed ways to further strengthen and expand the existing cooperation in potential areas such as trade, investment, tourism, education, security, energy, health, digital, agriculture and defence between the two countries.

Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and his Singaporean counterpart H.E. Lee Hsien Loong held their bilateral discussions in Jakarta, Indonesia this afternoon, on the sidelines of the 43rd ASEAN Summit.

The two leaders also discussed the possibility of importing rice and other agricultural products from Cambodia to the Singaporean market, as well as the building project of the subsea power transmission cables, as part of the green power trade project between both nations.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed Cambodia's intention to learn from Singapore's experience in the defence sector, especially the mandatory military service.

For his part, H.E. Lee Hsien Loong agreed to explore the possibility of continuing to provide technical support and training to Cambodia in both the civil and military fields. He also invited the Cambodian Premier to pay a visit to Singapore in the near future.
