Cambodia, Guinea-Bissau to Form Security Cooperation

The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Guinea-Bissau have intended to establish a cooperation in the field of security, especially to exchange experience between the two countries’ police forces and in the fight against illicit drugs.

The intention was emphasised during a meeting here this morning between Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Samdech Krolahom Sar Kheng and visiting H.E. Nuno Gomes Nabiam, Prime Minister of Guinea-Bissau.

Samdech Sar Kheng thanked H.E. Nuno Gomes Nabiam for visiting and participating in the election observation in Cambodia, considering that the visit is an honour and gives a higher value to the National Election in Cambodia, which is always organised in accordance with the principles of multi-party liberal democracy.

The Cambodian DPM briefed his guest on the general situation of the election process in Cambodia, underlining that the overall situation is smooth, from the campaign until the election day, which ended on July 23, 2023.

Samdech Sar Kheng also stressed that Cambodian politicians and citizens become more mature from one election to another, attributing this progress to the efforts of Cambodia itself as well as to the contribution of foreign friends and the international community.

For his part, H.E. Nuno Gomes Nabiam said after the election observation, he gained new experiences, specifically on peaceful election process in Cambodia.

The Prime Minister of Guinea-Bissau informed Samdech Sar Kheng of the outcome of his meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, during which both sides agreed to consider promoting and enhancing their relations and cooperation, particularly their mutual support in the agricultural sector.
