Cambodia Earns US$128 Million from Rubber Export in First Four Months

Some US$128.5 million were generated from Cambodian rubber export in the first four months of this year, according to a report from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries.

In January-April period, it pointed out, Cambodia exported 79,356 tonnes of rubber, a year-on-year increase by 3 percent.

Meanwhile, the rubber wood export was amounted to 6,638 cubic metres, earning US$1.2 million, it added.

The average price of rubber as of April was US$1,605 per tonne, down 4 percent compared to the same period last year.

By the fourth month of 2022, the total rubber plantations cover an area of 404,044 hectares in Cambodia, of which 310,193 hectares are matures for harvesting.

In 2021, Cambodia earned US$611 million from rubber exports.
