Phnom penh: The two-day Cambodia-ASEAN Business Summit 2026 commenced on Tuesday in Phnom Penh, aiming to enhance investment and improve the business environment for foreign investors.
According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the event is co-organised by the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) and ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) Cambodia, in conjunction with international chambers of commerce and business associations within Cambodia and ASEAN. The summit is themed ‘Transforming ASEAN: Innovation, Integration, and Industrial Evolution,’ highlighting ASEAN’s dedication to innovation-driven growth and boosting its competitiveness in the global market.
Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, is set to preside over the official opening ceremony on March 4 at the Sofitel Phnom Penh. Additionally, H.E. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, will lead the ASEAN Secretariat’s delegation at the summit, as outlined in an ASEAN statement released earlier this week.
On the sidelines, H.E. Kao Kim Hourn will conduct bilateral meetings with senior officials from the Royal Government of Cambodia and engage with the business community to reaffirm ASEAN’s dedication to regional economic cooperation. These discussions aim to advance ASEAN’s priorities with Cambodia and other member states, focusing on cooperation, trade, investment, connectivity, tourism, and inclusive growth.
The summit will be attended by high-ranking dignitaries, ambassadors, representatives from relevant institutions, the ASEAN Business Advisory Council, international companies in Cambodia and ASEAN, and experts from various sectors. CCC indicated that the summit will discuss ASEAN’s potential and the “Cambodia Strategy,” addressing topics such as clean energy transitions, land management, high-value manufacturing, and harmonising customs, taxation, logistics, and financial ecosystems for business growth.
Discussions will also explore strengthening regional supply chains, tourism, skills for tomorrow, and the evolution of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in a modern world.
