Cambodia and Korea Engage in Labour Cooperation Talks.


Phnom Penh: Cambodia’s Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training and Gochang County of the Republic of Korea’s Joelabuk-do province have discussed their cooperation in the field of labour. The discussion took place here on Nov. 5 between H.E. Heng Sour, Cambodian Minister of Labour and Vocational Training, and visiting Mr. Shim Deok-seop, Governor of Gochang County.

According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the meeting focused mainly on the cooperation in sending and receiving Cambodian workers to work under the seasonal labour programme in Gochang county. H.E. Heng Sour thanked the Gochang side for accepting Cambodian workers since 2023 and hoped that the county will increase the quota for recruiting Cambodian workers, especially the skilled ones.

H.E. Minister also thanked the Korean government for its attention to the protection of Cambodian workers in the Republic of Korea so far. For his part, Mr. Shim Deok-seop praised the Cambodian workers who are working in Gochang county for their good attitude and ha
rdworking, which makes their employers very satisfied. He added that Gochang county administration has set up a dormitory for Cambodian workers, which is a new model of caring for Cambodian workers.
