Australia to Continue Enhancing Cooperation with Cambodia

The Australian government is committed to further strengthen Cambodia-Australia cooperation in all areas, especially in economy, investment, trade, health, education, agriculture, environment, climate change, and capacity building in the field of defence. The commitment was reaffirmed by H.E. Justin Kevin Whyatt, Ambassador of Australia to Cambodia, while paying a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet at the Peace Palace here this morning. For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet spoke highly of Australia's support and assistance to Cambodia's socio-economic development, and laid stress on the Pentagonal Strategy- Phase 1 of the Royal Government of Cambodia, especially the attractiveness of the Investment Law of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the incentive policy for investors and business people to ensure predictability and realism for a favourable investment climate in Cambodia. The Cambodian Premier and H.E. Australian Ambassador also discussed a number of issues related to regional and international issues of common interest, and the enhancement and strengthening of Cambodian and Australian role in regional and global forums.
