APSARA National Authority, Sophia University Discuss Further Cooperation

The APSARA National Authority and the Tokyo-based Sophia University have discussed the possibility of further cooperation on restoration and conservation work in the Angkor resort.

The discussion took place in Siem Reap provincial city yesterday afternoon between Director General of APSARA National Authority H.E. Dr. Hang Peou and Prof. Ishizawa Yoshiaki, President of the Sophia Asia Centre for Research and Human Development.

Both sides examine the possibility of further cooperation on restoration and conservation work in the Angkor resort after the Angkor Wat's causeway restoration project, said the APSARA National Authority in a news release.

According to an online source, Sophia University has been engaged in the preservation and restoration of the Angkor Wat site for over 20 years under the basic policy of “preservation and restoration of the Angkor Wat ruins for Cambodia by Cambodians.”
