Asian Development Bank (ADB) is preparing a project on Skills for Future Economy to help upgrade Cambodia’s industry.
The note was made in a meeting between H.E. Ith Samheng, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training and Ms. Jyotsana Varma, ADB Country Director for Cambodia here in Phnom Penh on Sept. 7.
H.E. Ith Samheng recalled ADB’s contribution in response to policy on industrial development, career and employment development policy, and policy on technical and vocational education and training (TVET).
The bank also supported the ministry with strategic plan on employment and vocational training development, strategic plan on modernisation of vocational, technical and educational system, and master plan for TVET institution development.
ADB has been an active development partner of Cambodia in various sectors, especially to foster the country sustainable economy.
He also asked ADB to continue its technical assistance for labour sector and TVET in line with Cambodia’s rectangular strategy on human resources development.
Ms. Jyotsana Varma thanked H.E. Ith Samheng for the good cooperation so far and pledged to bring the minister’s request for internal discussion.
