Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen has decided in principle to allow the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports to organise the 3rd National Games 2022 at Morodok Techo National Stadium in November.
The decision was highlighted in a notification signed by H.E. In Vireakcheath, Secretary of State at the Office of the Council of Ministers recently.
The permission was granted in response to the request by H.E. Hang Chuon Naron, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports.
The National Games 2022 intends to further prepare Cambodia for the 32nd SEA Games 2023 that the country will host.
As planned, the event will happen from Nov. 17 to 28 at six municipal and provincial courts, especially Morodok Techo National Stadium.
Approximately 7,000 delegates, coaches, and athletes will join this important National Games that include 39 kinds of sports and 7 kinds of para sports.
The National Games were successfully held twice in 2016 and in 2018, but were postponed in 2020 due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
