Phnom penh: The 2nd ASEAN (Cambodia)-China Commodity Trade Fair commenced at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh, aiming to bring together domestic and international traders, entrepreneurs, investors, and business representatives to enhance networking and explore business and investment opportunities. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, the three-day event officially opened on June 19 under the presidency of H.E. Ms. Somnea Someth, Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce. The fair saw participation from Mr. Lim Heng, Vice President of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce, representatives from the Cambodia-China Chamber of Commerce, and numerous national and international guests. The exhibition features more than 100 booths displaying a wide range of Chinese products and services, including automobiles, motorcycles and electric bicycles, electrical appliances, electronics, auto parts, textiles, household products, technical consulting services, and investment projects. In her opening remarks, H.E. Ms. Somnea Someth highlighted the fair's role in providing an opportunity for traders, entrepreneurs, investors, and business communities from Cambodia and abroad to establish direct connections and exchange business and investment information. She emphasized that the exhibition contributes to promoting economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Cambodia and China. She also urged companies and relevant stakeholders to continue supporting the organization of trade fairs in Cambodia in a more effective and high-quality manner while enhancing understanding of Cambodia's trade, business, and investment environment to strengthen competitiveness. Mr. Lim Heng described the ASEAN (Cambodia)-China Commodity Trade Fair as an important platform that allows Cambodia to further benefit from bilateral cooperation with China. He noted that the forum not only creates opportunities for investors from both countries to exchange business experiences and expand trade relations, but also help s attract more Chinese investment to Cambodia and introduce new technologies.
