A total of 13 heads of cattle were slaughtered in the Korban Aidiladha and Korban Perdana programmes organised by the Sultan Muhammad V Mosque and Labuan UMNO Division here.

Sultan Muhammad V Mosque’s sacrificial programme director Mohd Hafizi Ismail said the mosque had slaughtered nine cows with an estimated cost of RM7,000 each.

“The sacrificial rites are performed in a gotong-royong spirit involving 80 members of the mosque committee and congregation,” he said when met at the programme.

Meanwhile, Labuan UMNO division chief Datuk Mohd Rafi Ali Hassan said four cows were donated for this year’s sacrificial rites held at the grounds of the Al Ehsan Mosque, Kampung Sungai Labu.

“Some 300 party members participated in the programme,” he said, adding that the sacrificial meat would be distributed to asnaf families in nearby villages.
