UN Appreciates Cambodia’s Human Rights

The United Nations has acknowledged the improvement of human rights situation in Cambodia.

The acknowledgement was made by Mr. Joseph Scheuer, newly appointed Resident Coordinator of the United Nations to Cambodia in a recent meeting with H.E. Keo Remy, President of Cambodian Human Rights Committee (CHRC).

Mr. Joseph Scheuer also highlighted the UN's projects on human rights through the collaboration with the Royal Government of Cambodia for next years.

The UN resident coordinator thanked CHRC for its cooperation with its Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in Cambodia and the government for supporting the OHCHR's continued mission in the country.

H.E. Keo Remy spoke highly of the good cooperation in human rights sector between CHRC, UN and OHCHR.

He also reiterated Cambodia's stand in fostering good cooperation with UN and OHCHR in the future.
